Hungarian Travelers on a Cebu Island Hopping Tour: Nalusuan & Hilutungan

This time, we would like to share the island hopping story of a group from Hungary who visited MyCebuTrip during their trip to Cebu.
After guests from Vietnam and the United States, we have now welcomed travelers all the way from Hungary.
Visitors to Cebu are becoming more diverse, and while the number of Korean travelers has decreased, guests from other countries seem to be steadily increasing.

Travelers from Hungary listening to the safety briefing at the MyCebuTrip shop

Before departure, we held a tour briefing at our shop.
As you can see, the MyCebuTrip shop sits right in front of the sea, so almost every guest takes a photo with the ocean in the background before heading out.

Boarding the bangka boat directly in front of the MyCebuTrip shop

We depart right in front of the shop.
Since we don’t leave from a public port, departures are quiet and relaxed.
This is also one of the few spots on Mactan Island where you can board the bangka directly, without transferring from a small boat, regardless of high or low tide.

Our first stop was Nalusuan Island.
According to the Nalusuan & Hilutungan island hopping tour itinerary, guests snorkel first and then visit the island, but in practice most groups choose to go onto the island first.
The reason is probably to take photos before getting wet.

After some time to relax and take photos on Nalusuan Island, we headed to the snorkeling point.
The area is wide open, and you are completely surrounded by the Cebu sea. It is the kind of place where a 360-degree camera really shines.

These photos were taken while snorkeling at Nalusuan Marine Sanctuary.
Shallow water, great visibility and schools of fish swarming around you show exactly what Nalusuan is known for.
On this day the tide was coming in, and the water was about as deep as an adult’s head. At low tide it can drop to around waist height.
We didn’t get the chance to ask, but this group moved through the water just like freedivers.

Group of four from Hungary diving down for an underwater group photo at Nalusuan

Toward the end of the snorkeling session, they wanted an underwater group photo.
All four had to dive down at the same time, which was not easy, so we kept shooting several takes.

After snorkeling at Nalusuan, we moved on to Hilutungan Marine Sanctuary.
Lunch is served on board during the transfer, and it is a Korean-style lunch box prepared by MyCebuTrip ourselves.
Because MyCebuTrip is run by a long-established dive shop (Passion Dive), we cook our meals in-house.

This is Hilutungan Marine Sanctuary.
From the photos alone, you might think the water looks bluer and the visibility worse than at Nalusuan, but the deeper blue comes from the greater depth here.
For guests who dive as comfortably as freedivers, Hilutungan may have been the better match.

Simple line fishing, the last activity of the Cebu island hopping tour

The last activity of the day is line fishing.
Opinions are honestly divided on this one, but we keep it because it has long been part of the traditional island hopping itinerary.
Island hopping tours are changing a lot these days, but we plan to keep it for now.
After fishing, we return to the MyCebuTrip shop, and the day ends with a drop-off at the location of your choice.

Thank you for choosing MyCebuTrip.
We wish you all the best for the rest of your trip in Cebu!
